Bohouse

A local landmark with a story as bold as its interiors. Built in 1760 after Charles Roe banished his son Robert from the family home, Robert commissioned this townhouse as a place to set up his own family. Architect Robert Adam left his mark in the elegant features still preserved today. Lovingly restored in 2017, BOHOUSE continues to wow visitors more than 250 years later — older than the USA, the French Revolution, and constructed during the reign of George III.

Long after the French Revolution, BOHOUSE is still full of life. Louis, our resident Portuguese Water Dog, will greet you at the door — stiletto in mouth, of course.

The house has seen its fair share of changes: before coming into our care it was a solicitor’s office in need of a full restoration. Today, moody hues, vintage pieces, and eclectic finds fill every corner, giving the house its unmistakable character.

Climb the original sweeping Robert Adam staircase to your room and settle in around the original Adam fireplace. BOHOUSE offers two individually bookable bedrooms:

  • THE PENTHOUSE – in the attic, with a balcony, large ensuite with bath, shower, WC and basin, a dressing room, sofa, and smart TV.

  • THE GUEST ROOM – super-comfy bed, private bathroom with over-bath shower, WC, and basin, plus a smart TV.

BOHOUSE can also be booked as a whole, giving exclusive access to three double bedrooms, each with private bathrooms — perfect for gatherings with family or friends.
